Over 25 years ago, our founder, Jean-Claude Larréché, Alfred H. Heineken Professor of Marketing at INSEAD, began searching for a way to give his students the opportunity to not only learn business concepts, but apply them in a realistic context. From this vision, Jean-Claude created the Markstrat simulation, currently used by more than 500 academic institutions, including 8 of the top 10 international business schools, and 25 of the top 30 in the US. He also became a passionate advocate of action-based learning, and believed that students and professionals can profit just as much from engaging with such an interactive and intuitive experience as part of their skills development.
